The DIT (Department of Industry and Trade) supports UK business to take full advantage of trade opportunities, including those arising from delivering free trade agreements.
If your company exports products from the UK, then the UK Tradeshow Programme may be a valuable source of information and possibly financial grants to help offset some of your costs.
The UK Tradeshow Programme supports both exhibitors and visitors to international trade shows. The programme operates across several different business sectors and currently Cosmoprof Bologna is on the 2023 schedule.
The UK Tradeshow Programme provides all successful applicants with training, both about tradeshows in general and also specifically about the event that they applied for. Applications for grants are assessed and may result in financial support to help with exhibiting at the show.
The final selection of businesses, and the support they receive, will be made by trade experts and by DIT staff with relevant knowledge of the sector and tradeshow. If a grant is offered, it will be £2,000 or £4,000, inclusive of irreclaimable VAT, and paid in arrears after exhibiting at the show and according to the terms and conditions in the UK Tradeshow Programme Grant Funding Agreement.
The UK Tradeshow Programme is seeking to support UK-based SMEs (less than 250 employees) with an annual turnover of £250,000 to £5m and that are capable of exporting for the first time or wish to venture into new markets. In their applications businesses must be able to demonstrate that they have the capabilities to export and have a strategy to do so. Please note that businesses that have already booked to attend this event are not eligible to apply.
